Marine Surveying at Westview Marina, Earith

Positioned on the River Great Ouse at Earith—acting as the western gateway to the Old West River—Westview Marina & Leisure Park serves as a key operational hub for inland craft. Operating at this major river junction, craft require routine underbody evaluations, structural checks, and systems auditing to maintain ongoing safety and compliance.

SafeGuard Marine Survey delivers completely independent small craft surveying services directly on-site at Westview Marina. Whether you are buying a craft, renewing an insurance policy, or assessing steel plate retention, our technical audits provide clear, uncompromised findings with zero commercial links to local repairers or brokers.

On-Site Facilities & Boatyard Services

Heavy Craneage & Lifting: Westview Marina utilises a specialized 32-tonne Hyster mobile crane capable of handling craft up to 72ft in length. Out-of-water structural surveys must be scheduled to allow sufficient time while suspended in slings or securely blocked on hardstanding for full baseplate and underwater gear access.

Hull Maintenance & Workshop: Bio-fouling, heavy weed, and degraded bottom coatings must be cleared prior to Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). The site's high-pressure washing area and 72ft undercover workshop facilities ensure clean plate access for accurate ultrasonic transducer readings, even in poor weather.

Moorings & Fuel Provisions: Over 110 pontoon and river-front berths with water and metered electricity, alongside a unique fuel barge supplying marine diesel and Calor gas.

Utilities & Site Security: On-site chandlery (housed on an 80ft widebeam barge), pump-out, Elsan disposal, shower/laundry amenities, gated access, and 24-hour CCTV/resident security.
